Councillors Stuart Davis and Kate Wild, together with CF Activist Jack Scott set out to deal with a serious litter problem in St Alphege.

The group spent several hours clearing away litter strewn along Fielding Lane, making a dramatic difference to the appearance of the area.

The young Conservatives of Solihull were out in force this Bank Holiday Weekend. In response to requests from local residents, the youngsters, along with Maggie Throup, Cllr Mark Parker and local campaigner Karen Grinsell all worked together on this rainy Saturday to clean up overgrown vegetation and litter in Shirley.

We welcome the decision of the Government's Planning Inspector to give the go ahead for the Heart of Shirley. This is an independent decision that vindicates the stand taken by Conservatives against fierce political opposition.

Conservatives are now back in control of Solihull Borough Council, winning 6 seats in the recent local elections.  We now have 29 Councillors out of 51.  The political makeup is now as follows :   

Conservatives 29

Liberal Democrats 12

Labour 6

Green Party 3

Independent Liberal Democrat 1 (Now Green)    

 What a fantastic result!  We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported our campaign -  our councillors, our volunteers, our deliverers, not forgetting all of you who put your trust in us and went out and voted for us.

In a desperate attempt to cling onto control of Solihull Council, we are saddened to see the Lib-Dems have resorted to “gutter politics” to try to achieve their aim.  This is a tactic that they have used before; notably in the  Olton by-election, where Conservatives crushed the Lib Dem majority to just 9 votes in what is desribed as one as their safest wards.  The Lib Dem Group leader, Ian Hedley apologised .....
