'I understand there has been some local concern about a letter I recently received from Jeremy Corbyn. Given the misinformation circulating in the media, I would like to assure you that this letter was entirely unsolicited and I would not support a Corbyn led government. This letter was sent to me whilst I was away on holiday for a week.
I want to make it clear that I will not be meeting Mr Corbyn and I would not support any initiative to install Mr Corbyn in No.10.
I have always been clear that the result of the referendum should be respected. Like Boris, I believe that leaving the EU with a deal in place will best position us to take full advantage of the opportunities Brexit presents. I wish Boris every success in negotiating a new deal with the EU. However, it remains the legal reality that, if a deal cannot be agreed, leaving without a deal is the default position come October 31st.
I would like to reiterate that I fully support Boris Johnson as Prime Minister and would not, under any circumstances vote to bring down a Conservative government led by him.'
