Conservatives set to freeze Council Tax again in 2012

Whilst listening to residents when out and about in the community and at our street surgeries, many people tell Shirley East Councillor Mark Parker and Local Campaigner Karen Grinsell they are concerned about council tax levels and the rising cost of living. Last year Conservatives campaigned for a council tax freeze, which was delivered with government support. This year, we are pleased to tell you that the Conservative led Council are working hard to deliver another council tax freeze in 2012 and we are on course to achieve this.

The Coalition Government are also again supporting low spending Councils with additional funding, which Solihull will benefit from. Local Campaigner, Karen Grinsell said: “I am sure this will be welcome news to residents. We are all feeling the pinch in some way & another freeze to council tax levels will certainly help our household budgets.”
