Flooding in Widney Lane

For over  a year, your Conservative Action Team have been working to solve flooding problems in Widney Lane. Severn Trent have had over 20 teams working on the problem. They have replaced part of their sewer by Marshall Lake Road, which was blocked by cement and cleared out roots blocking the sewer in many parts of Widney Lane. Investigative  work has also been carried out into  flooding in peoples back gardens.

Solihull Council have cleared out the ditch in Brick Kiln Lane into which the sewer flows. This included removing a very large fallen tree.

The current position is that the Council’s drain by Marshall Lake Road needs to be rebuilt.  We are pressing the Council to get this work done as soon as possible including  work on other drains in Widney Lane which they have agreed to do.
