CONSERVATIVES CHALLENGE LAB/LIB DEM COUNCIL TO DELIVER COUNCIL TAX FREEZE

Conservatives in Solihull are calling on the Labour/Lib Dem Council to deliver a freeze on Council Tax when this year's budget is set in March.

A freeze was promised in the Conservative Party manifesto for councils able to claim a rebate from government to allow a zero% change on current tax levels, subject to them making the necessary level of savings.

Local Campaigner for the Silhill Ward Robert Hulland said; “I am absolutely certain a council tax freeze would be welcome news and a great relief for householders, especially those on fixed incomes, such as pensioners.  You can be sure that your local Conservatives will be pressing the Labour/ Lib Dem controlled Council to deliver the council tax freeze.”
