Dear Resident
Growing up in Smith’s Wood, I never thought I’d be able to stand for Council.
I live in the ward, so if it affects you, it affects me. I have been galvanised not only by proposals to merge parts of the ward with Castle Bromwich and Kingshurst by our Green Party councillors, but also by the fact that Smith’s Wood deserves better representation.
I am passionate, visible and local; not someone to sit around when there is work to be done. I believe in opportunities for all people which is why I was so happy that the Conservative-led council is opening our new FAMILY HUB. This will significantly improve the life chances of young people living in Smith’s Wood.
Growing up here, it has always been important to me that we have pride in our area. That is why I can be a strong advocate for having clean and safe spaces for our families, bringing communities together or getting my hands dirty by removing graffiti from the area. The small details make a huge impact!
Throughout my life, I’ve attended Smith’s Wood Primary School & Smith’s Wood Academy.
The investment in our village centre, as well as new homes, roads, shops, medical centre and so much more has been a turning point for the area. But there is always more to do.
I will work closely with council officers, Mayor Andy Street and Saqib Bhatti MP to bring forward even more action. I will also work with the local police to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
Together, let’s continue to change Smith’s Wood for the better! Please vote for me on 2nd May.
