It is a privilege to represent my home ward as your councillor. I have lived in Monkspath for 39 years and have very close connections with Cheswick Green, Tidbury Green, and Dickens Heath, where family members live. In short – your concerns are my own concerns.
As a longstanding local resident in the Ward, it is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to stand as your Conservative candidate in the forthcoming elections.
My wife Sandra, and I moved into the area in 1987, raising a family that has benefited from the strong local community ethos that exists.
The council had paused the Local Plan examination process, because it had not accepted the requirement of the Inspectorate to identify another 1700 units from Green Belt.
Residents will have received communications regarding two development proposals on land off Tythe Barn Lane and Tilehouse Lane. At this stage they are just proposals but need to be taken seriously because the land forms a site within the Local Development Plan.
The previous Labour Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) first announced in 2018 that Solihull Police Station would close. The current Labour PCC then reconfirmed this intention following his 2021 estates review, and the station set to close sometime at or after autumn 2025.
It’s a real shame the boy racers have taken it upon themselves to return to Tesco’s car park for their night-time activities. Following large gatherings in 2017, Solihull council and police were successful in obtaining a County Court Injunction to outlaw this anti-social behaviour.
Kineton Lane, the scenic connector between Blythe Valley and Box Trees Island on the A3400, has become a troublesome problem for both residents and authorities.
We are pleased to report the new A9 bus service is functioning well. A few teething issues between Solihull, Yardley and Birmingham have been sorted and the route is running efficiently.
