It has been an honour to serve as your local Councillor for the past 12 years. I am also Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and have spearheaded initiatives that have positively impacted our community.
One of my proudest achievements was leading the campaign to bring back the Minor Injuries Unit at Solihull Hospital, which had incredible support, garnering 11000+ signatures on a petition I launched - this demonstrates the importance of accessible healthcare in our area.
I have been privileged to represent residents of Shirley East ward as your Councillor since 2014. I have found this role extremely rewarding as well as very challenging at times.
As a resident of Shirley, I am proud of this great town, and I am even prouder and privileged to represent Shirley East as your Councillor. Shirley has been through many challenges and changes over the years, and we continually face new ones such as the cost-of-living crisis. The council had paused the Local Plan examination process, because it had not accepted the requirement of the Inspectorate to identify another 1700 units from Green Belt.
The previous Labour Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) first announced in 2018 that Solihull Police Station would close. The current Labour PCC then reconfirmed this intention following his 2021 estates review, and the station set to close sometime at or after autumn 2025.
